成績
11月30日18時(shí)30分，我校外語文化節(jié)演講比賽在外國語學(xué)院隆重舉行。本次比賽由校團(tuán)委，國際交流與合作處，學(xué)工部以及教務(wù)處主辦，外國語學(xué)院承辦。應(yīng)邀出席本次比賽的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)有我校教務(wù)處處長林秋華，校團(tuán)委社團(tuán)部部長任永明，外國語學(xué)院黨委書記許崇波以及文學(xué)院高級(jí)輔導(dǎo)員孫世友，此外擔(dān)任評(píng)委的還有趙永梅，王平，顧慧萍等老師。王子鳴同學(xué)代表我院參加了本次比賽。 首先由主持人致以慷慨激昂的`開場白，并就比賽規(guī)則及評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)進(jìn)行了簡要說明。接下來，比賽正式拉開帷幕，比賽分為“演講”和“即興回答”兩個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)。此次共有 19 個(gè)來自不同學(xué)院的同學(xué)參加了比賽。我院王子鳴同學(xué)的演講《what we can’t afford to lose is process》，或慷慨激昂，或深情低沉，或情感真摯，將青春風(fēng)采展現(xiàn)得淋漓盡致。并且她憑借清晰流利的口語，聲情并茂的演講獲得了評(píng)委老師的一致贊賞。在“即興問答”環(huán)節(jié)，王子鳴同學(xué)憑借較高的英語水平、較強(qiáng)的臨場發(fā)揮能力和應(yīng)變能力，從容回答所選問題，贏得觀眾陣陣掌聲。最后我院王子鳴同學(xué)獲得比賽的一等獎(jiǎng)并接受了許崇波書記的頒獎(jiǎng)。
通過本次比賽，不僅給同學(xué)們提供發(fā)揮才能的舞臺(tái)，充分展現(xiàn)我院學(xué)生的優(yōu)秀風(fēng)采，而且有助于營造我院英語學(xué)習(xí)氛圍，調(diào)動(dòng)全院學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的積極性。同時(shí)豐富了校園文化，推動(dòng)我院英語教學(xué)建設(shè)。

First, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness,wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question topresident Nixon, he would probably had said,”O(jiān)ur destiny offers not the cup ofdespair, but the chalice of opportunity.”
Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20_Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. Howmuch changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercisingequipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots ofmodern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by theOlympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more peoplewill get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attractthem strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment,for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness ofenvironmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games givea unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youthwith the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so manyadvances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyoneshould use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have anyspecial meaning to you?”
For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 20_ Olympic Games is a tremendous gift.Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying thelove given to us .The society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captainis waving his hand and saying ”Hey! Come here and take the helm! ”How charminghis voice is, but we have never heard of it in our true life. This morning,however, when we wake up, we will see the Olympic Games waving its hand. Afterchewing, most of us will have at least one plan about what to do for the OlympicGames. And mine is to be a “comforter” ----that is someone who will give comfortto others.
